This is one of my most treasured creations, representing my highest achievement of skilled goldsmithing, diamond setting and design. The one-of-a-kind ring features a 200 million year-old amethyst enhydro quartz. In fact, quartz crystals can be as old as Earth itself. The rare lavender-colored gem has a pocket with trapped paleolithic, or older, water and air. A small bubble moves in the liquid when the ring is tipped. The gem is set in an angular 18k gold ring that emulates the natural form of the crystal, The two sides are set with diamonds, representing the best pavé diamond setting of my life. I learned this difficult skill from a master stone setter during my training in Germany and spent 40 years teaching it to thousands of jewelry students.
